This project consisted of the demolition of an existing old bungalow positioned on a large plot of land.  

 

The site was re-developed to provide 11no 2-bedroom social houses at Norman Road, Ripley for Future Homescape / Amber Valley Borough Council. 

 

The site contained an old well which had to be specifically engineered around.  

 

The site also had a protected tree (TPO) to the site frontage which also had to be carefully considered and protected during construction works.

 

The dwellings were timber framed with brickwork outer leaf and tiled roofs. 

 

Due to the speed of which timber frame goes up, the project finished more than one month ahead of programme by local house builders: Griffiths Services and Developments, Codnor Park.

 

The dwellings are super energy efficient with very high levels of insulation.  Secure by design was also approved for this site as well as achieving Code for sustainable homes.
