This site originally formed part of a large garden to an existing bungalow, on a total site area of 0.25 acres. ABDS was engaged to divide off part of the garden into a separate building plot and obtain planning permission for a detached three-bedroom bungalow.
The design complemented the style of neighbouring bungalows built in the previous five years, while working around a sloping site: the site levels influenced where the dining room and lounge were positioned, since the client wanted French doors opening directly onto the garden. Roof tiles and facing materials were matched as closely as possible to the neighbouring bungalow, with coursed stonework and a brickwork feature band and quoin corners.
